Design and build a showpiece cottage

The Situation:

A senior executive wanted to tear down an old cottage and erect a new cottage of 650 sq. m. (7,000 sq. ft.) on Lake Simcoe, Ontario. Most of the property was to be redeveloped to support the project objectives. There was a tight budget, and schedule was paramount. The quality of construction had to be top quality.

Our response:

Crawford selected and hired an architect specializing in executive cottages. Since the work required full services, we hired mechanical/electrical engineers, a landscape architect and a construction manager to control costs and maintain a tight schedule. We also coordinated with the client’s interior designer.

The Result:

The cottage was completed in 11 months from beginning of design through to occupancy. The work met the high standards of the client in every detail. The project has been displayed in a national calendar for 2 years in a row. Tourist boats on Lake Simcoe point out the cottage on their tours due to the uniqueness of the finished design and construction.
